Is Everyone Suddenly Smart!?! GoT 7.05: Eastwatch

The white walkers are coming…and everyone believes that now? Oh, thank Azor Ahai! This week’s episode of Game of Thrones sees one of the greatest twists of the series’ history form. The three rulers of Westeros seemingly deciding to put their differences aside in order to save the world. This is a huge shift for the story telling of the show, as I’m sure most fans believed that going into the final season there would only be two rulers left standing, and Cersei would most likely be the one to die. However, now it seems that even the woman who sits on the Iron Throne is ready to provide aid against the Army of the Dead. Although she needs proof of their existence and she clearly has her own selfish motives and some sort of scheme brewing, it certainly was unexpected for this fan.

This episode gave fans many character meetings and reunions that we’ve been waiting for for years. Including my personal favorite: Tyrion and Jaime meeting under the Red Keep. I won’t go into the specifics of it all but this episode really delivered, leaving really the only major meetings left to be between Jon, Daenerys, and Cersei, as well as a fingers-crossed probably never going to happen but if there is a God he will give it to us Stark family reunion at Winterfell.

The Westerosi Avengers, the rag tag team that Jon Snow is leading to capture a white walker and bring it back to King’s Landing as evidence of their existence, will most likely suffer some heavy casualties next week. But this week it was great seeing all these characters together, and Gendry! Holy hell he made it off that boat!

Overall, this episode delivered on a lot of excellent character moments and set the course for the show for the coming future. I give “Eastwatch” an 8 out of 10. As always, thank you for reading this and have a nice day!
